Raw Banana Puttu/ Podimass/ Scramble

Ingredients:
2 Raw Banana/ Plantains
1 Red Onion (Medium)
1 inch Ginger
1 Green Chilli
½ tsp Black Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Urad Dhall (Black Gram)
Few Curry Leaves
2 tsp Oil (Use any Cold Pressed Oil)
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
¼ tsp Salt
A dash of Black Pepper Powder.
Method:
- Steam/ Boil Raw Banana for 10 minutes.
- Peel the skin and grate it. (You can also crumble them with hands)
- Finely chop red onions, chilly and grate ginger.
- In a pan, heat oil, add mustard seeds, once it starts to crackle, add the urad dhall and curry leaves, fry until golden.
- Add the onions, ginger, green chilly and fry for 2-3 minutes until the onion gets a golden color.
- Add in the grated/ crumbled raw banana, turmeric powder, black pepper powder and fry for 2 minutes.
- Serve as side for any rice/ millets dish or just eat like that. Delicious!

Notes:
- To check if the raw banana is cooked insert a knife/ tooth pick at the center. It should be soft enough to get through it and you will be able to peel the skin easily like a fully ripe banana
- If you don’t like it spicy either skip green chilly or remove the seeds.
