Brown Chickpeas Fry / Kala Channa Fry

Ingredients:
2 Cups Brown chickpeas
½ tsp Cumin Seeds
½ tsp Ginger (Finely Chopped)
1 Green Chilli (sliced)
1 tsp oil
1 tsp coriander/ cilantro (for garnishing)
Spice Powders:
1 tsp Chilli powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
¼ tsp Chat Masala
2 Pinch Salt
Method:
- Soak brown chick peas overnight, pressure cook it for 3 whistles or cook in a pan until soft.
- Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, when it starts changing color, add ginger, green chillies and fry for a minute.
- Add the soft cooked brown chick peas, all the spice powders including salt and fry for a minute.
- Add some water used for cooking chick peas and fry until the raw smell of masala goes away.
- Add Coriander/ Cilantro, mix well and serve.
- Goes well with roti/chapathi/ whole wheat tortilla/bread or just by itself as a healthy snack. This is simple but a delicious recipe.

Notes:
- You can replace chat masala with lemon juice or dry mango/amchur powder.
- You can also follow the same recipe with white Garbanzo instead of brown chick peas.
Health Tips:
Do not add salt while cooking the chickpeas to decrease the sodium level.
